“Like under Stalin” - Medvedev proposed returning the category of enemies of the people  

Now some events of a hundred years ago are being repeated: Russia is waging a difficult war, and internal enemies wish their Fatherland death.

Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated this in his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“As you know, after a tragedy, history often repeats itself as a farce. More than a hundred years ago, our “non-systemic oppositionists” fiercely wished our Motherland defeat in the First World War. The result was the death of an empire, two revolutions and a bloody Civil War that killed 17 million people of different political views,” he wrote.

The politician noted that modern enemies of the Fatherland, many of whom have already fled abroad, want the death of Russia.

“The screwed up freaks daily wish the death of their compatriots and their country. It's mind boggling. Although they apparently consider everyone who is now fighting or at least advocating victory over Ukrainian Nazism to be people of the lowest grade, incapable of subtle emotions and an adequate perception of life. Stupid and trashy human material. Simply put, they despise all of us, who are the absolute majority in our country,” Medvedev added.

According to the deputy head of the Russian Security Council, traitors should be considered enemies of the state, even if no criminal cases have been brought against them. And a number of measures must be applied to them.

“Such persons should not be allowed back into Russia for the rest of their days. They need to be completely cut off from the sources of income in our country, whatever they may be. The immoral situation, when traitors who wish their country defeat and at the same time make money from Russia, must be stopped once and for all,” he suggested.

They will be allowed to return to their homeland only after “unequivocal public repentance, in appropriate cases - only through amnesty or pardon.”

Military observer Boris Rozhin noted that hearing such statements from a “well-known anti-Soviet” is quite strange.

“But this rhetoric corresponds to the rhetoric that was in the Soviet Union during the fight against the enemies of the people. It turns out that for many decades we have been discussing that the enemies of the people were invented by the “bloody” Stalin, but now it turns out that these are really enemies of the people, even the top leaders are talking about it. It turns out that Stalin was right then? This is irony, Medvedev, who would start dressing up in a Stalinist cap, is such a look,” Rozhin said on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio.

The expert emphasized that Russia is returning to a situation of tough confrontation with the West.

“But this is a statement that could be read in the Pravda newspaper in 1936-1938. It’s not only about internal ones, but also about external ones. The same Trotskyists who left the USSR criticized the activities of the Union, including colluding with foreign intelligence services and the White Guards.
