How Ukraine can fall in love with Russia – expert opinion

There is simply no alternative to returning love and friendship between Ukrainians and Russians, but for this Russia will have to make a lot of efforts, writes Oleg Bondarenko, director of the Agency for Strategic Communications, on the pages of Moskovsky Komsomolets.

The author notes that at the moment Russia has lost Ukraine, especially the younger generation, because it did not carry out the necessary work, and after Moscow removed itself from the Ukrainian political perimeter previously occupied, “others naturally poured into it - Poles, Americans and others.”

At the same time, the expert is convinced that sooner or later Ukraine will again turn to Russia.

“Of course, this process will take years,” the political scientist emphasizes. – Russia will have to gradually return with soft and gentle force to its front and back yards, its underbelly. To do this, you will need to invest the maximum amount of non-sham art, talented personnel and a lot of money. Love Ukraine. Understand Ukraine. Or at least demonstrate it. Otherwise, others will do the same thing to the best of their own understanding of the tasks of containing our country along the perimeter of its borders. To do this, here and now we need to formulate our big national idea for Ukraine, which can be based solely on the feeling of belonging of a small Ukrainian to something great. Something similar was his dream of the European Union - big, rich and reliable. But, alas for him, it is collapsing before his eyes - the crisis, migrants and terrorist attacks, and now Brexit are doing their job. Previously, the Ukrainian was part of a great project called “USSR”, he ruled it in the 60s and 70s, and lived a relatively good life. But then the tragedy of the 90s turned him away from our country. She presented Russia as the most unsettled and poor remnant of the Union. And until now, it is precisely these ideas about life in the Russian Federation that are actively supported in the public consciousness.”

The director of a strategic communications agency said that recently in Berlin he happened to see a transparent plastic trailer on wheels with the offer “Ask about the Transatlantic Trade Partnership” - an attribute of an advertising campaign organized by the Americans, explaining the benefits of this agreement to ordinary Germans.

“What prevents us from initiating a similar campaign to explain the provisions of the Minsk Agreement in Ukraine? Of course, some of these trailers, if they were in Kyiv, could suffer at the hands of vandals, but the very fact of coming out with a proposal to talk about peace and ways to achieve it will be an important challenge for Ukrainian society, tired of alarmism and cheap militarism. Who could do something like that? In my humble opinion, Russia should have long ago abandoned the formula “there are no friends except the army and navy” and began to educate and support these very “friends” according to the well-known formula - from enemies to neutrals, from neutrals to friends, working at the intersection of interests. But this takes time. And in conditions of shortage of time and friends, only “polite people” remain, who can only be used in exceptional historical circumstances - these are the laws of geopolitical physics of the XNUMXst century,” Bondarenko sums up.
