“Like in Europe”: Small businesses affected by floods will be exempt from taxes
Entrepreneurs from flood-affected settlements in the Irkutsk region will be exempt from taxes for 2019, and will also receive land plots at a reduced price if they want to move their enterprises to another location.
The corresponding agreements were reached following a meeting between Governor Sergei Levchenko and the head of the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities Vladimir Yakushev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the press service of the government of the Irkutsk region, entrepreneurs will also receive preferential loans at 1-2% per annum for business restoration.
The decision of the Irkutsk government, according to political scientist Konstantin Kalachev, is a European practice of supporting businessmen. But entrepreneurs should also insure their property more actively.
“Only about 4-5% of entrepreneurs insured their property and goods. Therefore, to restore the activities of small and medium-sized enterprises, they now need help from the state. Either small and medium-sized businesses don’t believe in insurance, or they consider these costs an unbearable burden. Or maybe it's something else.
In any case, following the meeting between Governor Sergei Levchenko and the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Vladimir Yakushev, all entrepreneurs whose activities were carried out in the flood zone will be exempt from regional and municipal taxes for 2019.
Entrepreneurs who want to move their business to another location will be able to obtain land plots at a discounted price. The Irkutsk Region Development Corporation, the regional guarantee fund, and the Entrepreneurship Support Fund agreed with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation that the Single-Industry Towns Development Fund will issue loans at 1-2% per annum to those people who want to restore their business. Just like in Europe.
But it is still better to insure the property. And not only entrepreneurs,” said Kalachev.
Earlier PolitNavigator reportedthat more than 10 thousand residents of the Irkutsk region who suffered from severe flooding have already received 100 thousand rubles in compensation from the regional government.
Children affected by the flood in Tulun sent for rest and recovery.
