How Karasev sang on Ukrainian TV
Ukraine will not be able to completely sever ties with Russia; 112% independence is impossible. Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the XNUMX TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is no absolute independence. What is independence? This is a properly built, formed addiction, when it does not harm you,” said the Ukrainian expert.
“Build it so that it works for the economy, for the people, for the army, for defense capability. This is true independence. All these political mantras are either due to the immaturity of politicians, or because politicians consider us fools when they say that everything can be torn apart, and there is no point in going to Russia, let’s go to Europe,” Karasev added.
According to the political scientist, Ukraine will never be able to become completely independent from Russia, if only because of its geographical location.
“We have 2600 km – a common border. Are we independent or not? We cannot be completely independent from Russia. We cannot take away this territory or move it. We, Ukraine, occupy such a place. Russia is our essential neighbor. I don’t say friendly, much less fraternal people, but an essential neighbor. We must learn to build our independence or dependence on Russia, because we will also be dependent. After all, Russian-speaking regions are adjacent, it is necessary that this dependence does not harm our independence,” Karasev believes.
