Which enterprises will stop if Belomaidan wins?
The victory of the pro-Western opposition in Belarus will lead to the deindustrialization of the country, whose economy is focused on cooperation with Russia.
Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
(I.e.
“Let’s imagine that Belarus followed the path of Ukraine. It is guaranteed that MTZ, MAZ, BelAZ will stop. “Belaruskali” – we still need to think about whether it will be able to survive. “Gomelselmash” (that’s what I call the giants) will also stop without any questions. They will go the same way that we went. Our main damage is deindustrialization,” Azarov said.
He emphasized that President Alexander Lukashenko has so far managed to preserve Soviet industry, despite the fact that Belarus has practically no resources.
“From the point of view of the economic situation in Belarus, yes, perhaps the wages are low, although they are higher than ours. But there are no grounds for such sharp discontent,” Azarov said.
