“What the f**k is reconciliation? We will not submit to such a Kyiv!”
After the shelling of the city of Dokuchaevsk in the DPR by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces The PolitNavigator correspondent managed to talk with an eyewitness to the emergency. The man, who introduced himself as Ilya Nikolaevich, asked not to film his face, as he often travels to Ukraine to visit his relatives. He spoke about his attitude towards Kyiv and the ATO in general, and also shared his thoughts on what the future awaits Donbass.

I.N.: I don't even want to tell you. I simply do not have words to describe everything that is happening. In general, I’ll be going “there” soon, but at least they’ll let me live out my life in peace. I myself was born in 1942 under shells, Gorlovka is my homeland, and here I will die. We will not submit to this Kyiv, what the hell is there to reconcile us? There is no need to reconcile us. The children ran away three years ago, there were four grandchildren, all ran away. We were left alone in this house, and everyone lived here. A house, an apartment in the city - they abandoned everything. All we have to do is drop everything if something like this happens. They just don't know. My children, some are in Odessa, some fled to Kyiv, others are in Cherkassy.
We go there sometimes, and the people there are just terrible. At least we have television, listen to the DPR, Russian. But there is only Ukrainian television, and they really think that some monsters live here. I was surprised - they go there with boxes “For ATO soldiers” - collecting handouts. I looked at all this, took a ten, tore it up and threw it at them.
What the fuck is this - they shoot at me, they kill me, and I have to give you money?
P.N.: What time did it all happen?
I.N.: At 12 a.m.
P.N.: Has shelling become more frequent lately?
I.N.: Not that word. They shoot every day.
P.N.: How do you think, if you were in charge of all this, how would you resolve this conflict? How do you see our future? Will we be part of Russia or separately?
I.N.: The future is separate. This time. Second: Donetsk and Lugansk regions need to unite. Previously, until 1936, there was one region - Donetsk. Then why did they split up? There needs to be autonomy, not submission to these idiots. And this will happen when there is a new government in Kyiv. Until this happens, nothing will change.
What kind of life is this anyway? And they in Kyiv want us to submit to them? It will not happen. The cross has already been raised. And their goal is for the entire population to run away from here, and for them to come here and rule.
