Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Novinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, since the beginning of this year, Ukraine has purchased coal from Russia worth more than a billion dollars.
“Severing diplomatic relations with Russia will not bring anything good to Ukraine. If they wanted to do this, they should have done it three years ago. But over these three years there was economic cooperation with Russia, and various products were produced in Russia by various food industry enterprises, petroleum products and other energy resources were purchased from Russia. As far as we know, more than a billion dollars worth of coal from the Russian Federation alone has been purchased this year. That is, trade relations do not stop. If it is beneficial to the current government and someone from the current government makes money from it, it remains and works. Severing diplomatic relations is impossible right now,” Novinsky said.
