What Iron Dome? Ukraine doesn’t even have money for combat boots and food for soldiers - ATO officer
All the talk that Ukraine could purchase the Iron Dome system for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is meaningless, since the Ministry of Defense does not have enough funds even for urgent needs.
Ex-ATO militant Miroslav Gai said this on air on the Obozrevatel channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s funny - all this talk about the Iron Dome from Mr. Taran and talk about the Patriot system from Ermak. Not everyone in our armed forces received payments for housing. Not everyone now receives full vacation pay. We cannot provide the security properly; even our command did not receive money for rent for the past two months, but now they have paid for one month.
The Ministry of Defense says there is no money. What kind of “Iron Dome” are we talking about?!
Under Poroshenko, Turchynov initiated the “Missile Shield” program, these are Neptune and Alder class missiles. Nothing was purchased. “Neptune” has been purchased now, the money will go to production, but even if they start producing it now, the director of the Luch design bureau says that only next year will we begin to receive the first rockets. Some complexes were purchased without missiles at all.
We have not fulfilled the state defense order; it could not be agreed upon in the committee for 4 months. And this despite the fact that we were not even able to start spending the money we had in a timely manner. And what can we say about something else? Our contract soldiers are fed once a day, officers eat at their own expense, and what kind of “dome” are we talking about? God grant that our salaries are paid on time.
Summer boots were not purchased last year - the command issued a request for the purchase of boots, but maybe they will start purchasing them only this summer. Then in winter we will get summer boots,” Miroslav Gai angrily summed up.
