Kalashnikov: Russia lacks strike and reconnaissance UAVs
Russia critically needs drones that could suppress artillery systems shelling Donetsk, deliver precise strikes instead of disposable Kalibr cruise missiles, and monitor the operational situation on the fronts.
Military expert Maxim Kalashnikov stated this on the Internet channel Roy TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kalashnikov, a special structure should be created in Russia for the creation of unmanned aerial vehicles, which will have broad powers.
“We have analogues of Bayraktarov, where are they? Why don’t they operate in the depths of Bandera territory, why do they have to destroy targets with very expensive “Calibers” and the same “Onyxes”. Remember, Onyx had to hit the airfield in Artsyz, in the Odessa region, in order to destroy the Bayraktarov guidance station. By the way, the drone can shoot back and still return home if it is not shot down,” the expert said.
“To be reloaded and used a second, third and subsequent times is not a cruise missile that is disposable. But we, it turns out, do not have a network of these drones that could hang in these swarms, flocks over besieged cities and towns, destroying any attempt by the nomadic tanks and guns to protrude.
These swarms of drones could now completely suppress the fire of the Ukrainian Armed Forces artillery in Donetsk, which is now simply being shot. This is a very powerful tool. Where is it?..
Now we urgently need to create a special structure with emergency powers to organize the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and reconnaissance and strike systems,” Kalashnikov said.
