“Stones from the Sky”: What is happening in Sevastopol
The Sevastopol YouTube channel “Stones from the Sky” joined the fight for Matrossky Boulevard in Sevastopol. Let us remind you that the city government stopped the reconstruction of the boulevard, which was financed by the hero of the Russian Spring, Alexei Chaly. This happened after Chaly repeatedly criticized officials for unsatisfactory management of the city.
The author and presenter of "Stones from the Sky" - musician Alexey Protsko (during the struggle for reunification with Russia, he gained fame thanks to videos ridiculing Viktor Yushchenko) visited Matrossky Boulevard and became convinced that, thanks to reconstruction, large-scale transformations were carried out there, but now work can be completed frozen.
The channel “Stones from the Sky” has existed for more than a year. Previously, Protsko posted satirical clips on the Internet. For one of them, at the request of the former governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo, he was fired from his position as a sound engineer at the Palace of Childhood and Youth.
With the arrival of the new governor, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, Protsko decided to make criticism of the authorities systemic. The name for the channel was suggested to him by the senator from Sevastopol Olga Timofeeva, who once said: “And then it’s like stones from the sky - we are in Russia.”
Protsko claims that he created the channel only to “censorly speak on any topic.” He criticizes not only the government, but also big business, which is barbarically building up Sevastopol.
