As stated in a statement by Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the actions of those included in the sanctions list contributed to the violation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. One company was also sanctioned.

“The international community is concerned about Russia’s illegal occupation of the Crimean peninsula and provocative military actions,” the head of government said, adding that Ottawa fully supports the peace plan proposed by President Petro Poroshenko.

The extended list of persons has not yet been made public.
