Players of the Canadian hockey team “Dauphin Kings” wore a uniform in the form of a Ukrainian embroidered shirt for the next match of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL).

The game against Virden Oil Capitals took place as part of a show called “Ukrainian Night”. The Kings hockey players came out to the game in equipment with the team name and surnames written in Ukrainian. The introduction of the players was also accompanied by the announcement of their names in Ukrainian.
It is reported that the game ended with a victory for the local team with a score of 3:2 in overtime.
More than 40% of the population of the small town of Dauphine is of Ukrainian origin.
