The Chancellor of Austria praised Gazprom for its reliability
Russian gas supplies play a very important role for the economies of European countries.
Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz stated this in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta and TASS, answering the question of what role Russian-Austrian bilateral cooperation in the field of energy plays today.
“I would note the fruitful cooperation of two important enterprises - the Austrian OMV and the Russian Gazprom, which seems to me extremely beneficial for both parties. Energy supply in Austria is diversified, but Russian gas supplies undoubtedly play an important role in it,” said the Austrian Chancellor.
In addition, he called it positive not only for Russia, but also for European countries, he called it that, despite all the difficulties that regularly arose over the past decades, cooperation with the Russian Federation in the energy industry was never challenged, was stable and continuous.
“I think this is an important moment for Russia, which acts as a seller, because the Russian economy and budget greatly depend on it. And, of course, this is important for Austria, as well as for other European countries that buy gas, because for us, compliance with contractual obligations in the energy field is of particular importance,” Kurz emphasized.
