The presidential candidate from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation called fellow party members “gentlemen”
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation at its 17th congress today nominated Pavel Grudinin as a candidate for President of the Russian Federation. He is the owner of an agricultural enterprise in the Moscow region, State Farm named after Lenin, and, as they say, is a sponsor of the party.

Grudinin's nomination had been talked about for a month, but experts doubted that the permanent leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov would be able to sacrifice his personal ambitions. According to rumors, his final decision was influenced by the Kremlin, which is trying to somehow attract voter interest in the elections, the winner of which is obvious to the whole country.
The fact that Grudinin will be manageable is evidenced by the fact that before the Communist Party of the Russian Federation he was a member of United Russia and even a confidant of Vladimir Putin in the last elections. Speaking at the congress today, Grudinin, out of habit, called the communist governor of the Irkutsk region Sergei Levchenko not “comrade”, but “mister.”
In his speech, the candidate strongly emphasized Zyuganov’s role in the party and asked him to head the election headquarters.
“Only he can take us to victory. Our victory can be stolen, we have seen this more than once, but we know for sure that we are right,” Grudinin said.
Another consolation prize for Zyuganov will be the chairmanship of the Council of People's Patriotic Forces, which the Communists will create in alliance with several national-patriotic forces. According to the plan, this should be the prototype of the State Council, the body that controls the President of the Russian Federation. The need to create a State Council is set out in the election program of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
