“Candidate P” is unlucky: in Cherkasy, the police brought down a bribery pyramid in his favor
Law enforcement officers recorded bribery of voters by representatives of “candidate P” in Cherkassy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The official website of the National Police reported this on Friday.
Law enforcement officers received a message that voters were being bribed in favor of one of the presidential candidates in one of the office premises in the city center. Arriving at the scene, the patrol police revealed a large number of citizens standing in line at the building.
“In the building where, according to preliminary information, money was distributed in exchange for a commitment to cast one’s vote on March 31 for candidate P., patrol police found an equipped office space with computer equipment and boxes of money on the tables,” the report says.
Upon the arrival of the investigative team at the scene of the event and a substantive review, police officers identified large sums of money, mostly in denominations of 500 UAH, as well as documentation with personal data of citizens, in particular, lists of citizens, next to whose names the amount of money in equivalent was indicated from 2 to 4,5 thousand UAH.
“An investigative and operational team is working on the spot, seizing available material evidence that may indicate voter bribery, and also interviewing citizens who were in and near the office premises. In the near future, this event will be given legal qualification,” the message says.
