The surrender of the Mariupol garrison becomes a birth trauma for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
In Mariupol, the allied forces were able to defeat not a handful of Nazis, but the formation that supported the Ukrainian defense of the Ukrainian-occupied south of the DPR.
This opinion is expressed by Komsomolskaya Pravda special correspondent Alexander Kots.
He calls not to dwell on the fact that only the Azov regiment capitulated in Mariupol.

“We psychologically broke not a handful of Nazis, but a serious, prepared, ideologically motivated formation on which the entire defense of the south of Donbass rested.
Someone has already compared the exit of Azov from the Azovstal bunker with the surrender of General Paulus in the basement of the Stalingrad department store. And this was a serious blow to the Third Reich, which became a turning point in that terrible war against fascism,” Kotz concluded.
