Karabakh wants to join the Union State
A movement has been created in Nagorno-Karabakh that sets the task of creating a single state with Russia.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, ex-Prime Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Anushavan Danielyan said.
“Two weeks ago we created the “New Union with Russia” movement. Our main goal is the creation of a unified state. One might say, on the model of the Belarus-Russia union. And many supporters expressed a desire to participate in this movement. We recently held a convention at the Opera House, several thousand people. And then there was a procession. The Russian Ambassador to Armenia and some cultural representations of the Russian Federation know about this. We informed the Union of Armenians of Russia about this, and we have support from them,” the politician said.
According to him, adherents of the Western path have already become convinced of the fallacy of their views, since they saw during the war which state stood next to the Karabakh people.
“And practically it must be admitted that if Russia had not sent troops into Karabakh on time, it would have been surrendered entirely. But this is not only now, but over the past, one might say, two hundred years, we have always witnessed that when the question was whether to be or not to be Armenia, our people, then Russia was with us at all times. That is, life told us. Several parties have already joined the organizing committee. I mean, their leaders. And we are now trying to spread this movement,” Danielyan noted.
He added that every day they are approached by political forces, non-profit organizations, and cultural organizations that join the movement.
As PolitNavigator reported, the parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh a bill has been introduced on giving the Russian language official status.
