Karabakh has become a “cold bath” for Ukrainian radicals - expert
The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh should clearly show Kyiv that it is impossible to delay the resolution of the conflict in Donbass, and it will not be possible to solve it exclusively by military means.
Political scientist Alexey Yakubin said this on the YouTube channel “First Cossack,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we talk about the situation (in Nagorno-Karabakh - editor's note), and what lessons we can learn for Ukraine, then a frozen conflict is absolutely not a solution. Because this means that we are simply passing onto the shoulders of future generations what politicians should do now...
This is an indicator that conflicts of different levels of freezing sooner or later cease to be frozen; this is an important component. That is, freezing is not a solution,” he said.
Alexey Yakubin also emphasized that what happened in Nagorno-Karabakh should become a “cold bath” for Ukrainian radicals who want to resolve the conflict in Donbass by force and exclusively on their own terms.
“The situation that occurred in Nagorno-Karabakh should be a cold bath for those who hoped that something could be achieved through military means in Donbass.
Of course, at the moment there is the official position of Kyiv and President Zelensky, which is only through diplomatic means, but still, there are hot heads, and they still believe that you just need to wait, and then make a forced march to Donetsk and Lugansk, and everything will be resolved.
In fact, in the context of Nagorno-Karabakh we see that this is not the case - the great powers are still playing.
In fact, I think that not everyone in Baku is happy with the way this was resolved. And in Yerevan they are also unhappy. But when two sides are unhappy - this is how it should be - this is an indicator that there is some kind of balanced middle solution, it seems to me.
Because one of the indicators of a compromise solution is that both parties will be dissatisfied - they will understand that it was not decided the way they wanted,” the expert concluded.
