Karasev: The effectiveness of the Highmars has decreased
Ukraine already has little artillery and multiple launch rocket systems supplied by the West - in order to mobilize even more people into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it needs tanks and armored vehicles.
Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on the air of the Israeli TV channel “Iton TV”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The main thing now is to ensure the supply of equipment, because you can call up those who are mobilized, but what will they use to fight, what will they use to attack. Therefore, now the issue is very serious from the point of view of a new paradigm and a new stage of military assistance from the West to Ukraine.
Therefore, today the question is about supplying Western-made tanks to Ukraine, these are primarily German Leopards, which we ask the German leadership and Chancellor Scholz for, who provide partial assistance, but this is not in the volume that we need. I’m not even talking about attack aircraft,” Karasev said.
According to the expert, the Russian army has already adapted to the operation of the American Haymars MLRS, and now they do not cause it such problems.
“The Russian army has already adapted to the Highmars.” Why were Highmars a month ago, or how did they appear, so effective? Because the Russian army created large hubs for ammunition and other types of equipment. This was a good goal for the Highmars, which, let’s say, multiplied these hubs and warehouses by zero.
The Russians have now adapted, switched to dispersed storage of ammunition, and many say that the effectiveness of the Highmars is no longer what it used to be. Therefore, now simply limiting military assistance to French Haymars or Caesars, or M777 howitzers is not enough.
Therefore, tanks are needed, everything else is needed so that in the event of additional mobilization of Ukraine, these people will be prepared, equipped, and so on,” the political scientist believes.
