Karasev wants to Ukrainize May 9
The famous Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev called for the refounding of Victory Day and endowing it with Ukrainian meanings.
The expert stated this on the NewsOne TV channel.
According to him, Victory Day in Ukraine should take place without parades and should not be sacred, as in Russia.
“If you have such a holiday in Russia on May 9, then let’s make our holiday, the Ukrainian May 9, our Victory Day. So that it would not be so sacralized, sacred. So that it has a different tone. Not on the state, but on the person, on the veteran, on the victims, on our Ukrainian account of this war. Next - no parades with these tanks, S-400 missiles and so on. That is, let’s look for our own model for celebrating Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War,” Karasev said.
