Karasev: Crimea and Donbass will want to return to the “territory of prosperity”
Ukraine must solve many problems to normalize the situation in the country. It is necessary to create a prosperous territory that will be of interest to investors, then the conflict in Donbass will be resolved, and Crimea will return.
Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NASH TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine’s interest is to resolve the conflict in Donbass, engage in reforms, economic and political modernization, economic growth, and ensure economic success. This is how the new government views this situation. Secondly, this is the main trump card if we have economic success and prosperity territory. And it doesn’t matter now, there are nuances about how Donbass will return, but this is how it will definitely return. Then it will be Crimea’s turn, but it needs to be shown that with war and conflict and confrontational relations with Russia. And this is a border of at least 2400 kilometers. We will not succeed economically. This will interfere,” he noted.
At the same time, according to the expert, Crimea is an “island”, and the bridge does not solve the issue of returning it to its “native harbor”.
“Crimea is an island. In the USSR it was a peninsula, when Russia was part of the USSR it was an island. Well, they made the bridge, but it still doesn’t solve these problems. All the same, it remains part of the landmass of Ukraine,” Karasev added.
