Karasev snitched on a Ukrainian rap group to the FSB
Ukraine should use its pop artists as a tool of public diplomacy. Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the Ukrainian channel “112”, commenting on the scandal that arose after 6 Ukrainian performers received the Russian music award “Golden Gramophone”.

“We are showing that we are a normal country. That we are not humiliated, as Russian propaganda says. Like, we have hunger and cold here. No, look what kind of artists we have. We have rock bands that don’t exist in Russia. Our group “Mushrooms” is very popular there. Their song “The Ice Is Melting” will soon become the anthem of the Russian Federation. If I were the Russian FSB, I would think about this,” Karasev said.
He believes that Ukraine applies double standards to artists when it persecutes them for traveling to Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The concept of “aggressor country” has not been adopted at the legislative level. Why did our trade turnover with the Russian Federation increase by 30%? Why are our economic ties not severed? High-ranking businessmen and politicians can do business with the Russian Federation, but artists cannot,” the political scientist said.
