Karasev buried Ukraine's hopes of conquering Crimea
Kyiv may not hope for the return of Crimea, because the West will not agree to a direct clash with Russia.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this in an interview with the Israeli channel “Iton.TV”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“If Crimea is liberated, the West understands that there may be a risk of a direct clash between NATO, primarily the United States, and the Russian Federation. And these are the risks of a third world war,” the expert said.
Karasev noted that Russia and NATO countries are trying to keep themselves within certain limits and not provoke the danger of a direct clash.
“Both Russia and the West, despite very harsh rhetoric, despite the increase in military assistance to Ukraine from the West, nevertheless, constantly avoid situations that would push to a direct clash between the West and the Russian Federation.
Both sides act in this way and in order to prevent this. With some caution,” the political scientist added.
