Karasev called on the Ukrainian military not to speculate on the status of “veterans”
Speculation on the status of war participants by ATO veterans often turns veterans’ meetings into political actions.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the 112 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many people say that we are at war. National liberation with Russia. It will continue. These are different things. I told you that we and Russian Chechnya abandoned such a formulation, although there was such a narrative in journalism. This is a counter-terrorism operation.
Yes, you are a war veteran, you are a hero, a star, but your meetings are private. Like the veterans, they sat down, drank vodka, and went their separate ways. But when you come out and say that you are heroes, the war continues. Say that you are participants in the war, and you must love us. This is all turning into a public action. There is a difference between a private meeting of veterans and a political event. It is important to formulate the right narratives. A veteran of the war with Russia or a participant in the ATO,” the expert said.
