Karasev called on Ukraine not to tease the Russian bear, but to become a bridge
Ukraine has a unique geopolitical position that allows it to be a bridge between the West and the East. Ukraine has already lost one of these bridges, the gas transportation system.
The famous Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Karasev, otherwise, if bridges are not built, Ukraine will turn into an outpost for foreign states against China and Russia.
“What do we have today? We have a good geopolitical position, but it can be a different geopolitical position. We can use it as a military outpost against Russia, which is what the British want. This is what they want - to roam around Crimea with their naval forces and troll, tease the Russian bear with a stick. Or this could be a territory of stability,” Karasev said.
"In what sense? So that investments come here. Such an internal European offshore, a bridge country, so that businesses can meet here, because Ukraine is the gateway of Eurasia to Europe, China, by the way, to Europe and Europe’s gateway to the east. But you know that we have already lost one bridge - the GTS - that was also a bridge. This is a bridge for pumping gas from Russia to Europe. And we ourselves failed this bridge. This means that now we need to build other bridges. I don’t know what is better to build - military bases here for other countries against China, Russia and so on, or to build new bridges - trade, economic and others,” Karasev said.
