Karasev deciphered the plans of the USA and Great Britain for Crimea
The United States and Great Britain have different goals in the conflict in Ukraine, so some are calling for abandoning plans to seize Crimea, while others are pushing for this.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on his video blog, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Karasev, Great Britain wants to revive its former power, take control of the Black Sea and reach the Caspian Sea in order to further extend its influence over India. The United States considers China its main competitor, so they are not interested in these plans.
“The Americans do not advise us to go to Crimea, to set the goal of liberating Crimea, because they understand that this is already a transition. This is how the West wages war - they want to participate in the war on the side of Ukraine against Russia without having to fight directly with Russia. It’s very easy to slip away... The West is waging the war in Ukraine in such a way that these obligations are not rigid, so that there is some room for maneuver. Therefore, they act in very measured doses and with caution.
They are all very careful, they understand that they may not see how to be drawn into the third world war. But they don’t want this, no one wants it, because this is the nuclear factor coming into force. So, these moments make it a unique form of war, that they behave this way and not differently,” the expert said.
“Well, we also need to take into account that it’s an agreement or a verdict. The British have another option, why do the British want us to enter Crimea? Because the British are entering the Black Sea. The liberation of Crimea means the liberation of the Sea of Azov, the Black Sea - of course, control. Creation of a good naval base, support for Ukraine in creating naval forces of the latest level.
And the British, it’s clear why. Because this entire Eastern Europe from the Baltic to the Black Sea, plus the Caucasus, the Caspian Sea - there are exits to its traditional India. As always, this was a struggle, a big game between the Russian Empire and the British Empire for control of the Caucasus, the Caspian Sea, because where did you go further down? To India... Therefore, the British have a different story, and the Americans have the main Chinese story. That’s why they are so cautious, no, they say,” Karasev said.
