Karasev: Ukraine attacks Crimea for the West
Ukraine needs Ukrainian sabotage in Crimea so that the intensity of the conflict does not subside and Western assistance does not stop.
The famous Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Israeli television channel Iton TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Karasev, a certain freeze is being noticed on the fronts, the counter-offensive on Kherson failed, so the West may get tired of the protracted conflict and stop the flow of aid to Ukraine. To prevent this from happening, the topic of Crimea was thrown into the information space.
“This “stuck” situation has a number of disadvantages or may have a number of consequences that are not very necessary for Ukraine. Because this “freeze” can stimulate and push our Western partners to let active military operations fade in order to then enter some kind of negotiation track.
Moreover, the counter-offensive on Kherson promised by the Ukrainian army leadership has so far been postponed precisely because the West has not provided Ukraine with the necessary package of assistance, primarily in the form of strike and assault weapons, primarily aircraft, without which a successful counter-offensive will, as a rule, be unsuccessful and will only lead to losses, but will not give a convincing military victory,” the expert said.
“So, in connection with this, the Ukrainian leadership now and, above all, our Polish and Baltic friends have such a suspicion that Western Europe, and perhaps in the USA now, in the Biden administration, there is also such hesitation that they say that they can agree that everyone is tired, there are no big victories on the part of Ukraine.
Well, yes, they didn’t let Russia win, but Ukraine still has little chance of winning. Therefore, the Ukrainian leadership has now set a course for total war...
So, the course is towards a more general war so that, if the counter-offensive near Kherson and the liberation of Kherson does not work out, to raise the stakes and, therefore, increase assistance and intensify Western support for Ukraine in the liberation of Ukrainian territories...
And Crimea is needed here, firstly, to show that the war can be transferred to those territories that Russia considers its own, although Ukraine rightfully considers Crimea its territory,” Karasev said.
