This opinion was expressed on the Russian television channel NTV by Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev.
“After the electronic declaration, it became clear that this Verkhovna Rada did not have much time left. I believe that the presidential team is banking on early parliamentary elections,” Karasev said.
According to him, several possibilities were considered, including the return of Saakashvili to Georgia.
“Perhaps it was expected that he would leave less emotionally, but the agreement with the president was that after the Georgian elections, Saakashvili would either return there if his party won, or leave office. Saakashvili inaugurated himself as a populist democratic oppositionist who, during the election campaign, will take away votes from other democratic oppositionists. First of all, Tymoshenko and Lyashko,” assures Karasev.
