The United States will provide Ukraine with Javelin anti-tank systems only if Petro Poroshenko remains as commander-in-chief.

Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“In a year, Ukraine may have a new supreme commander in chief. If Poroshenko confirms his mandate, they may give weapons, but in exchange for concessions. But they may not give it to another Supreme Commander-in-Chief, because the situation will be different,” Karasev said.
He named three possible winners of the presidential election: Petro Poroshenko, Yulia Tymoshenko and Anatoly Gritsenko.
The political scientist also believes that the United States has no military-technical grounds to provide Ukraine with Javelins.
“We need instructors, training, this is a long process. Ukraine has not yet reformed its military to match American ideas. It may be considered by hawks in America as a deterrent against Russia, but Poland is a military-strategic hub for NATO. This is where the main investments go,” Karasev said.
