Karasev: Poroshenko started the war against Kolomoisky and Korban
All Ukrainian presidents put pressure on local authorities and their leaders.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this to the Israeli Internet channel “Iton TV”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Poroshenko was the first to start a war against Korban and Kolomoisky in 2014-2015. Korban was placed in temporary custody by court decision. In my opinion, he spent two months in prison and only in exchange for leaving Ukraine and serving time somewhere, in my opinion, he went to Israel, so he was released and the case was not brought to trial with a more serious sentence,” the expert said .
“So there was this struggle between the center and the regions or stylish municipalities of megacities, Kyiv and Kharkov, too, when Kernes was still alive, especially then. Here, Korban and Filatov, and in 2014-2015 Kolomoisky himself was the governor or head of administration, Poroshenko started.
They also used such quasi-legal or semi-legal methods, semi-despotic, let’s call it that. Moreover, this is also how Yanukovych acted in his time,” Karasev said.
He emphasized that in this way the president, having collected all power in his hands, can absolutely ignore the law when making any decisions.
“This is the Achilles heel of our constitutional and political system, which often turns, especially under the influence of various external, and even more so military factors, into such a super-presidential republic.
Where the role of municipalities, the role of parliament and most importantly the role of the law, the rule of law, is ignored by the higher authorities as a de facto concentration of power, semi-legal or paralegal, in their hands,” added the Ukrainian political scientist.
Let us recall that Korban was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship and was not allowed into the country. Information also appeared about the deprivation of Kolomoisky’s Ukrainian citizenship, but he is now in Dnepropetrovsk.
