Karasev: The Sheremet case is the beginning of the denazification of Ukraine
Activating the trial in the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet is the first step towards defusing relations between Ukraine and Russia. Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the publicity that “ATO heroes” took part in the murder of Sheremet is not accidental - this should lead to the debunking of the cult of “ATO people” and denazification, which also plays into the resumption of relations with the Russian Federation.
“All this is no coincidence. Once. Secondly, this story is, rather, not so much and not only criminal, but rather political-criminal, political. I would even say conceptual. Because it can mean very important things in terms of restoring dialogue with the Russian Federation. And it could mark the first step in normalizing relations with the Russian Federation. Now this is Zelensky’s main bet.
Now, everyone is talking about the disastrous results in Paris in the Normandy Format, and nothing has been agreed on in Minsk. But something else happened there. Minsk is a different story. But a dialogue began, and a normal dialogue with the leadership of the Russian Federation.
Despite the fact that the aggressor country, the war and so on, the dialogue began, the President of Ukraine and the President of Russia looked eye to eye for eight hours. This is an important point, because in parallel with the conflict in Donbass, the Minsk process, the Normandy format, this hybrid was still being promoted, and someone said an eternal war with Russia or a national liberation war with Russia, and so on.
Therefore, if all these criminal facts are proven, a forensic examination, a trial, competitions between lawyers, prosecutors and so on take place, this could lead to what is already happening - the deheroization of ATO participants. This could be followed by denazification of the internal political situation and so on,” Karasev said.
