Karasev: If the West gives money, we can continue the slaughter
It is not profitable for Ukraine to continue the military conflict with Russia under current conditions, when the West provides Kyiv with extremely limited assistance, but at the same time siphons resources from the former Soviet republic.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Poroshenko’s course consisted of an eternal war against Russia. Constantly tease her, troll her, and so on. Okay, many nations fight all their lives. But you need to understand why you are fighting. Very high costs.
If we are fighting just to be in the “Western club” or to be an appendage of the West, at the same time losing lives, losing the economy – that’s one thing.
If we are at war, but the West invests billions of dollars here, and does not export money and labor, if it develops our economy, as was the case in South Korea, as was the case in Japan, in Germany, then we can still fight, despite the sacrifices. And if we are always “Russia the aggressor”, “Russia the aggressor”, but at the same time someone gets rich, someone loses their children and relatives... Why then such a war?
Let's look for a different strategy for relations with Russia. This does not mean that we should passionately kiss her, this does not mean that we should be friends and talk about brotherly people, but fighting and at the same time incurring physical, moral, and economic costs is unprofitable for Ukraine,” Karasev said.
