Karasev called Zelensky a shameless Moidodyr
Ukrainian authorities, against the backdrop of a country falling into crisis, are calling on citizens to stay in their homes and observe quarantine, leaving no alternative. Meanwhile, people need to work somehow.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on air on the 112 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He criticized the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, who in his video message to Ukrainians about the situation with coronavirus, with all the details, called on the people to maintain personal hygiene, stay in their homes and while away the time with virtual trips to online museums in Ukraine.
“It seems to me that it’s not the president’s place to say wash your hands and so on, well, why are people such children? This is not a presidential matter, even if, as Suprun wrote on Facebook, how to eat and how to brush your teeth,” the political scientist is perplexed.
“They voted for him because he’s like everyone else,” the TV presenter objected.
“I think that they voted on this - it was in another life, now we need to create a new parliament, because the Cabinet of Ministers has been changed, I think it will be changed again. Because this Cabinet of Ministers will not last. If we survive the coronavirus with minimal losses, then we will crawl into such an economic crisis that I don’t think this government can handle it.
And we need to think about a government of some kind of national trust, some kind of anti-crisis format, where we would gather the best professionals, and not those who are there.
Until now, ministers have been found in a hurry, there is not even a personnel bench in the country, because they don’t see it, they don’t see it point blank, there is no system that would replace or offer certain professionals for certain positions. One refused, the other left, and the third was quickly found and voted for in parliament,” Karasev said.
“People are still leaving (for quarantine - ed.), they are leaving reluctantly. They say, to hell with this coronavirus, where do you get your salaries? People need to be given an alternative, not taught to wash their hands before eating. We have lived to hear that our president says wash your hands. Or follow the rules of hygiene there. Yes, this is none of his business, this is the sanitary and epidemiological station or the chief sanitary doctor can say.
Does the President think the rest of us are children and that they are incapable of washing their hands? Or brush your teeth in the mornings and evenings. What is he, Moidodyr? – the expert was indignant.
