Karasev confirmed that the Belgorod sabotage was organized by the State Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine
The breakthrough of saboteurs into the Belgorod region was initiated by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with the goal of interrupting the information agenda associated with the loss of Artyomovsk/Bakhmut.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on the air of the Israeli Iton TV, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert was asked whether the pro-government structures of Ukraine - the army, intelligence, government - had anything to do with the breakthrough of saboteurs in the Belgorod region.
“Of course, it was, I think that along the reconnaissance line it is necessary to arm it. This is not an ordinary raid, it is almost a military operation. Therefore, simply by the forces of, say, the Russian opposition, Russian protest, the underground that operates in Ukraine, it would be very difficult to organize this, I think it is impossible. Therefore, of course, this is from the point of view of preparation, and secondly, from the point of view of goals.
After all, what’s interesting about this raid is its purpose. To return the information-psychological initiative within the framework of cognitive warfare, especially against the backdrop of the situation with Bakhmut, which we managed to do, is an information bomb,” the political scientist said.
“Yes, everyone is talking not about Bakhmut, which was completely abandoned, but about Belgorod,” – the presenter agreed.
“Yes, that indeed the Russian border service and other relevant departments were not ready. This was a surprise for them, although after Bryansk in early March one could already be prepared for such surprises,” confirmed Karasev.
