Karasev: Soon it will be possible to hit Crimea. Everything will be decided by mid-September
Kyiv needs to recapture the south of Ukraine and Kherson from the Russians before mid-September.
Director of the Institute of Global Strategies Vadim Karasev stated this on the Youtube channel “Iton TV”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“In the short term, a month or two, there will be a storm, but then either an even bigger storm or calm. Since we are now approaching such decisive months in order to persuade, Russia wants to persuade Ukraine, first of all, through the efforts of the West, to peace negotiations on the terms that Russia considers acceptable. There are already statements that if there is a truce, then there will be other, more stringent conditions for Ukraine.
Ukraine will not enter into any negotiations for now, counting on the fact that in these decisive month and a half, until about mid-September, it will be possible to resolve successful counter-offensives to the south and Kherson,” Karasev said.
He boasted that soon it would be possible to shoot in Crimea.
“One of these days there will be a new Rammstein. Ukraine, through the mouths of many speakers from the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff, and independent military experts, make statements that Ukraine can receive significant military assistance from our Western friends and partners.
We expect to have HIMARS that have a range of 300 km. This already means that it is possible to hit Crimea. Further statements by Deputy Defense Minister Gavrilov that Crimea could become a legal target, since it is the territory of Ukraine de jure, the Crimean Bridge and Crimea could become a legal target for HIMARS.
Further, today there are attacks on Novaya Kakhovka, on Kherson, attacks on ammunition depots, on the oil refining capabilities of the occupied territories. That is, some kind of artillery preparation, not heavy fire, but we have been seeing such targeted and periodic fire for a week and a half,” the Ukrainian political scientist ranted.
