Karasyov: Ukraine will face early parliamentary elections in 2022
Presidential attempt Vladimir Zelensky to monopolize power in Ukraine led to the destruction of the mono-majority loyal to him in parliament, which could result in early elections.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Ukraine, disloyal politicians are being purged out in line with the monopolization of power. For example, disloyal oligarchs should be removed, and loyal ones should remain. This is populist, not democratic de-oligarchization. Avakov and Razumkov were fired, and unruly mayors or mayors who are seen as competitors are next in line.
What is characteristic is that the president, monopolizing power, lost his mono-majority in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and it cannot be otherwise, and at the moment it exists thanks to the votes of two groups that no one elected to the Verkhovna Rada: “Trust” and “For the Future” , - he said.
In addition, the political scientist noted that the majority of Zelensky’s faction in parliament remained only legally, and early elections to the Verkhovna Rada will be held in 2022.
“For the visible majority in parliament, two oligarchic groups are involved, behind which there are loyal oligarchs. Due to the fact that the mono-majority remained only de jure, the idea of early parliamentary elections was voiced, the implementation of which is postponed to 2022,” concluded Karasev.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they said that the majority of Ukrainian citizens (67%) believe that the country is developing in the wrong direction, and 61% of Ukrainians don't trust President Vladimir Zelensky.
