“On Saturday night, during the shelling of Marinka by Ukrainian punitive forces, several dozen civilians were killed,” Igor Strelkov said at a press conference.
“We know about 30 dead. But not all the rubble has been cleared yet, so there may be more. The militia's targets were not damaged by the shelling. There are no losses on the part of our fighters. No dead or wounded,” Strelkov said.
At about 13:00 Kyiv time, Marinka was again subjected to an artillery strike, DPR leaders noted.
According to Igor Strelkov, clashes have continued over the past XNUMX hours in other areas of Donbass. Thus, in the area of Donetsk airport on Saturday night, militias attacked a Ukrainian outpost.
“The outpost has been destroyed. Three enemy soldiers, according to our data, were killed. About 300 soldiers simply deserted, Strelkov said. – About 500 Ukrainian security forces and 10 fire batteries remain at the airport, including at least one self-propelled artillery unit. Unfortunately, until recently the airport was not completely blocked. Because of this, a week ago the enemy managed to change the personnel of the garrison. The replenishment arrived on a transport plane,” the DPR Defense Minister emphasized.
Answering the agency’s question about what other areas of Donetsk and the surrounding area there were battles, Strelkov noted that fierce battles took place in the area of Dzerzhinsk and Gorlovka.
“In Donetsk, fighting took place only in the area of Marinka, the Karlovsky reservoir, and in the area of the airport. Fierce fighting also continued throughout the day in the area of Dzerzhinsk, Gorlovka and in the area of Lisichansk, where a tank and two enemy infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed.” - he said.
Speaking about these clashes, Igor Strelkov refuted the words of ATO speaker Vladislav Seleznev about 500 militias killed during the air raid on Dzerzhinsk.
“He can say what he wants. But in the entire garrison of Dzerzhinsk there were fewer people in 2. We only know about one wounded militia during an enemy air attack, ”said Igor Strelkov.
