Mikeda was detained in the summer. In the fall, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit demanding the forced use of medical measures. After several hearings and examination of evidence, the man was found not liable. He will now be treated in a psychiatric facility with strict supervision.

“He served at checkpoints with weapons and in military camouflage uniform with “Novorossiya” stripes. In particular, seven cartridges were found in Mikeda’s home in the city of Kolomyia, which, according to the result of a ballistic examination, are 5.45 mm ammunition. An item was also discovered, which, according to the examination, is a high-power explosive. It is considered appropriate to use compulsory medical action against Mikeda in the form of hospitalization in a psychiatric institution with strict supervision for the purpose of his treatment,” read out the verdict from Kolomyia City District Court Judge Viktor Vasilkovsky.

Ukrainian “activists” in Kolomyia are dissatisfied with the court’s decision and demand that Ruslan be punished to the “highest degree.”

“I’m not very happy with the court’s decision, because people who fight against the state, against the independence of Ukraine, who kill their fellow citizens, must bear the most severe punishment. It’s a pity that capital punishment was abolished altogether,” said Kolomyia self-defense activist Mikhail Kushniruk.
