The Kiev magazine “Focus” writes about this, citing Ukrainian military expert, director of the consulting company Defense Express Sergei Zgurts.
“Perhaps our biggest problem is the lack of airplanes and helicopters, thanks to which the Russian Air Force is able to provide itself with almost double superiority in the air,” the publication notes. – In addition, according to Sergei Zgurts, the Russians are armed with modern helicopters that allow them to conduct combat operations at night. We don't have those. Just as there are no systems that can effectively counteract night attacks by helicopter units operating at ultra-low altitudes.”
“Another important problem is the lack of ammunition, especially for small arms, because before the war they were produced only in Lugansk,” the magazine adds. – There is also a shortage of ammunition for large-caliber multiple launch rocket systems, such as Smerch and Uragan.
