Scandals in the American Senate, one way or another connected with Russia, are a common, top-notch thing, although a little boring to the general public. But, as the wisdom says, we have them. Constantly. Like a weather forecast. With enviable frequency. It would seem that one day there wouldn’t be enough topics for these exciting fights, because in a wide range – from interference in the US election process to the poisoning of former citizens – there was already everything, but come on! Last week, “our dear partners” were again shocked by the approaching “zrada”, and the Senate buzzed with expressed concern - Donald Trump nominated Gina Haspel as a candidate for the post of CIA Director, calling her “my highly respected candidate.”

And everything here would have been nothing if not for her long years of work (15 years) undercover in Russia, impeccable knowledge of the Russian language and a classified biography and “work path”, even for senators who do not know the prohibitions. The American Senate was clearly not ready for such a turn of events and began to demand that the issue be thoroughly examined, and even better, that a new candidate be immediately found, because Gina should not count on the support of the Democrats: she obviously would not have it. Not only does Gina personify the practice of torture during interrogations, but also a great era of work in Russia! But first things first.

Never again, or the information is classified!

Last Wednesday, Senate hearings were held at the White House to consider the appointment of a new CIA director. There, with a light gait, in a light jacket and an airy scarf, Gina Haspel, nominated for the position by US President Donald Trump himself, came there - an impeccable master of the “craft”, a serious, tough female executioner. True, according to the American press, some people in pink, with posters and loud demands “not to confirm the spy,” also appeared there. But this is probably an accident, and no one in the Senate knows who these people are “for all the good/against all the bad.”

From the beginning of the hearings, the American Senate began to interrogate the American intelligence officer and fish out her carefully encrypted secrets, for example, about torture in special prisons in Asia, about the use of UAVs to kill suspected terrorists and about the extradition of suspects to third countries, about Russian interference in the American presidential election, about torture methods ... But smart Haspel, having worked in the field of intelligence and espionage from an early age, gave legislators answers that were approximately equal to zero for more than two hours of hearings, citing the secrecy of information. However, she agreed with America’s position regarding the Russian trace in election issues. She also resolutely assured the senators that the CIA would never return to, in her words, “enhanced interrogation,” even having grounds for them, they say, now only moral principles and philanthropy are in the interests of America.

Incognito in a light scarf

So who is this intelligence officer Gina Haspel and what exactly caused a storm of indignation in the US Senate? Why does the world know this smiling woman from only three photographs on the Internet?

Little is known from Haspel's biography. For example, there is information that even at an unconscious age, the daughter of a military pilot, for obvious reasons, lived at numerous air bases located around the world. It turns out that from childhood the girl grew up among the military and outside of air bases she saw the world even from its poorest sides (for example, the southern state of Kentucky, which is considered one of the poorest and least educated states, where Haspel spent several years of her childhood). Naturally, the girl, who grew up surrounded by military personnel, followed in her father’s footsteps and went into the military service, or rather, into intelligence.

It is known that her first business trip was a working trip to Africa, when Haspel was already a CIA officer, that is, an intelligence officer, or in Russian, a spy. A year later, in the same capacity, she came to work in Russia just during the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union, where she stayed for 15 long years - the USSR, Azerbaijan, then Russia. It is noteworthy that the scope of her activities in these territories is carefully encrypted and does not have access even among senators - people who almost completely own information classified as “secret”. It is not known for certain what exactly she did in these countries. Secret.

However, the general public knows that “Steel G” led the “Azerbaijani branch of American intelligence.” Also in the depths of the American press you can find information about Haspel’s successful leadership of operations to capture the attackers of the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania (1998); about the management of the secret US prison "Cat's Eye" in Thailand; about working in America during the disaster of September 11, 2001. Then there were two business trips to England and a return home to America at the beginning of 2017, where her assistance became one of the key ones in the expulsion of Russian diplomats after the scandalous poisoning of the Skripals in the UK.

Torture Instrument "G"

The steely-eyed woman Gina "G" Haspel gained her greatest fame during the administration of George W. Bush. It was with her that the words were integrally associated: torture, special prisons, prisoners. In this field, the woman, who entered the “profession” at the age of 29, achieved maximum success by leading the processes of “enhanced interrogation” - the infamous “waterboarding”, which was captured on several subsequently destroyed tapes. When information about them began to intensively leak to the press, and European human rights activists demanded an arrest warrant for Gina, accusing her, among other things, of torturing Abu Zubaydah, all evidence was destroyed, despite Bush’s confirmation of the existence of such places of detention. After this, the official existence of “secret prisons” in America ended.

Haspel's trail in Ukraine

There is a small but quite succinct amount of information on the Internet about Gina’s family and her involvement in Ukraine. According to some world media reports, CIA employee, namely Gregory Goodman, an employee of the paramilitary operations service of the US National Clandestine Operations Service, is her son. In 2014, according to the legal adviser of the All-Russian public movement “Human Rights” Tatyana Volkova, he was captured by Donbass militias near Slavyansk. According to her, at that time Gregory Goodman was working in Kyiv on a diplomatic mission.

“The certificate, as expected, indicated the place of work: the National Service of Secret Operations. Position: Paramilitary Operations Officer. Name: Gregory Goodman, Paramilitary Operations Officer, National Clandestine Service,” reports Tatyana Volkova, who is widely knowledgeable about the work of the CIA.

It was with this fact that various media outlets associated the arrival in Kyiv in April 2015 of John Brennan, director of the CIA at that time. Only after a few days of a secret visit to Ukraine, the White House confirmed the visit of the chief intelligence officer to the capital of the country that had flared up. Of course, it’s impossible to say for sure whether Brennan came to ransom “G”’s son or not, but you can’t erase the words from the media.

Pocket Devil

The situation with Gina's appointment as director of the CIA has been simmering for a week now. More and more new comments appear on the network, both opponents and supporters of this candidacy. At some point, Haspel even stated that she was ready to recuse herself so as not to discredit the good name of the CIA and her own. The conversations about torture led by the “steel G” really hurt my ears. However, Trump, apparently, persistently wants to push his “highly respected candidate” to the position of chief intelligence officer, who will also head the modern Gestapo.

Having taken the post of director of the CIA, the intelligence officer-executioner, who speaks brilliantly in Russian, will, of course, keep Russia in her sights, but she is unlikely to ignore Ukraine and Donbass. One cannot expect anything good from a person with such a track record and reputation - just realize that Trump is raising from the deep dark depths of his pocket Lucifer, whose powers and power will be expectedly unlimited.
