A map of Russia without Crimea appeared in a magazine published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The magazine "International Life", published under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in September issue published an illustration - a map of Russia without Crimea.
This was noticed by Crimean political scientist Anatoly Filatov. IN your blog he emphasized that the author of the article is a Russian journalist working on central TV.
“The September 2019 issue of the magazine International Affairs contains an article by the head of the VGTRK bureau in Belgium, Anastasia Burt, “In the context of big geopolitics: Yemen through the prism of the Arab Spring,” which shows a map of the Russian Federation with the annexed Crimea.
If this magazine were a publication free from Russian interests, of which the current Russian Federation is completely full, it would be, if not explainable, then understandable. But, in this case, we are talking about a magazine, the founder of which is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and the Council of the magazine includes Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on International Affairs Konstantin Kosachev and other high-ranking officials.
One can, of course, assume that this map is entirely the responsibility of the author of the article, who belongs to an organization whose leadership includes British citizens, and they do not always associate their civic duty with Russia...
In addition, the editorial board of “MZ” prudently reminds in each issue that “the materials published in the journal “International Life” do not necessarily reflect the point of view of the editors.”
Perhaps this could be justified if we were not talking about the state integrity of the Russian Federation,” comments Filatov.
