This is stated in the statement of the Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine in Kazakhstan.

“Due to the fact that in textbooks for secondary schools published by the Kazakh publishing house Mektep, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea is indicated as a subject of the Russian Federation, the Embassy of Ukraine sent a note of protest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the statement notes.

According to the Ukrainian note, the dissemination of this information contradicts the position of both the international community and the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which has repeatedly stated its support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian side appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan with a request to facilitate the immediate recall of these textbooks from secondary schools in Kazakhstan.

“Contacts of the Ukrainian Embassy with the mentioned publishing house testified that, unfortunately, a certain part of Kazakh society is deeply infected with Russian propaganda. In this regard, the Embassy supports the position of representatives of the Kazakh intelligentsia, which was repeatedly stated at meetings at the Ukrainian Center for Science and Culture at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Kazakhstan, regarding the need to strengthen the country’s information security by limiting the broadcasting of Russian TV channels,” the diplomat sums up.
