About it Kazakh website Tengrinews.kz reports.

The Ministry's Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science held a meeting of the Republican Commission on Textbooks, which includes members of parliament, public figures, scientists and experts. At the meeting, the issue of Ukraine’s appeal regarding the content of certain textbooks from the Mektep publishing house was discussed.

“During the discussion of the issue, the commission members came to the conclusion that the textbooks on geography and world history for the 10th and 11th grades published by the Mektep publishing house presented factual material without value judgments. At the same time, it was noted that for an objective presentation of the material on the issues raised, the authors did not use the entire factual series. In particular, on the topic of Crimea, the publishing house and authors do not fully reflect the official position of Kazakhstan, as well as the position of the world community. As a result of the discussion, it was decided to “oblige the Mektep publishing house to make adjustments to the mentioned textbooks, taking into account the comments made,” the message notes.

Also in Kazakhstan, it was decided to strengthen the work on the examination of textbooks, including in the political science part, and to reprimand those responsible for the content of textbooks in the country for insufficient control over the examination procedure.

As PolitNavigator reported, The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs threw the Kazakhs into hysterics and sent a note of protest regarding the status of Crimea, which is indicated in a number of textbooks as a subject of Russia.
