Kazakh political scientist: We will not escape from Russia
Kazakhstan is literally doomed to eternal friendship with the Russian Federation.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said the former deputy director of the Central Communications Service under the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan, an expert at the Institute of Eurasian Integration, Nikita Shatalov, answering the question of whether his country will continue to look towards Turkey.
“This is not a question of interaction with Turkey as a hegemon, but more a question of integration of the Central Asian states,” the expert told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
At the same time, he added that Kazakhstan is well aware of the importance of partnerships with Russia.
“We have the longest border in the world. As Nazarbayev said, we are doomed to eternal friendship with Russia, doomed in a good sense. Our trade turnover is growing, we are in a single economic space, in the Eurasian Union. We are in a single military bloc... We will not escape from Russia and Russia will not escape from us,” Shatalov assures.
