Kazarin compared Ukrainian reforms to a diet
After the Euromaidan, Ukrainians expected quick reforms in vain. Journalist Pavel Kazarin stated this on the Espreso TV channel.

“At some point it seemed to us that in three months we managed to drive away Yanukovych, in the same way the war could be won and reforms carried out. They will be dagger-like, personnel rotation will be widespread. But we underestimated the scale of the challenges that the country faced at that time,” Kazarin said.
To explain why reforms are taking so long in Ukraine, he gave an analogy with losing excess weight.
“Whenever they tell me where are those dagger reforms, I answer: remember your personal experience of losing weight. As a person who regularly struggles with excess weight, I can say: going on a diet is a tough, very disciplined story that is fraught with regular breakdowns. Why do we think that carrying out reforms in a country of 45 million, which is waging a war in the east for its own independence, should be easier than a personal fight against excess weight,” Kazarin said.
