Every tenth Ukrainian official reports to the FSB
Every tenth Ukrainian official reports to the FSB, not the SBU.
Such data was given in an interview with the Ukrainian Week magazine by the American economist of Swedish origin Anders Aslund, a member of the expert council at the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

“First of all, we must admit that the KGB (FSB), like Gazprom, are criminal groups,” the economist believes. - You can't deal with them. In addition, their agents must be removed. Indeed, in all countries of the former USSR, as well as in countries such as Bulgaria and Serbia, there is a merger of intelligence agents and organized crime. This is a big problem".
At the same time, he says, it is necessary to take into account the experience of Eastern European lustration to check officials in key positions.
“A recent example is Sasha Borovik,” says Åslund. – It is obvious that he is infiltrated by the FSB. He went through the KGB Higher School, worked on social networks, and then came to Ukraine and tried to take a post in the government. Of course, the Ukrainian authorities appeared incompetent here because they thought that social activists were certainly good. But they are the best channel for the infiltration of agents. One of my good friends in Ukraine said that 10% of senior officials previously reported to the KGB. They are still in that structure, reporting to the FSB, but not the SBU. Most often this can be heard from commanders of volunteer battalions, who testify that all information that reaches the level of lieutenant colonel and above is immediately transferred to the Russian side.”
