Kedmi named countries whose swimmers could destroy Russian gas pipelines
The sabotage against the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines was clearly organized against Russia, despite the fact that it was impossible to protect them.
The ex-head of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, military expert Yakov Kedmi, said this on air on the Volnaya Street channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“First of all, [this sabotage] is against Russia, since it is a strategic Russian object. A strategic economic facility of Russia, which built not only Nord Stream 2, but also Nord Stream 1, is being destroyed, this is absolutely clear.
All underwater structures are vulnerable, all cables are vulnerable, because they are not built in a way that they can be protected absolutely from terrorist activity. It is very easy to carry out terrorist attacks underwater.
There are countries that have excellent special forces who know how to do this, excellent equipment, and it is impossible to protect a single oil and gas pipeline under water. Not a single electrical, communication, or Internet cable can be protected. You can always carry out sabotage in one area or another. This is thousands of kilometers at great depths. It’s just not controlled,” Kedmi said.
He noted that a number of countries have good units that could carry out this operation.
“The Italians were good at this kind of operation during World War II. Then it was the Americans, the British work well under water, they have a lot of experience, they have a lot of experience and good units for these things. We only do this in our area, that is, our underwater swimmers are also at a high level, but this is not our territory,” the military expert added.
Earlier, political scientist Evgeniy Satanovsky made a forecast that after this sabotage “The liquidation of the Turkish Stream is next.”
