Kedmi: The threat to take Chisinau stopped the conflict in Transnistria
Neither as part of Russia nor as part of the USSR, Moldovans have never been second-class citizens, unlike the realities of Romania, where they want to go.
Israeli military expert Yakov Kedmi stated this on the YouTube channel “Media Club Format A3,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was not the troops, not the people from Transnistria that went to Chisinau, but it was from Chisinau that the military forces of “independent Moldova” moved to Balti and Transnistria. Luckily for them, Russian military units were stationed there, there was a specific commander who gave the order - either you stop, or I will move my tanks to Chisinau. That's all.
That is, it was not Russia that gave rise to this conflict, but pro-Romanian forces who wanted to turn it into a Romanian province instead of independent Moldova,” he noted.
“Moldavians have never been second-class citizens either in Russia or in the USSR, but in Romania they were, if they want it, then - please.
The same thing in Ukraine... Ukrainians, Belarusians in Poland were cattle, if these who want is the future of Moldova either within the framework of a single independent state, or within the framework of a partly state within Romania. I don’t see anything else,” Kedmi said.
