The head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Maxim Sokolov, stated this on the air of the “Opinion” program of the “Russia 24” information channel.
“This year you shouldn’t be afraid (of queues - PolitNavigator), because the capacity of the crossing has been increased many times; today we can already say that we have already increased the ability to transport passengers to almost the estimated 50 thousand people per day and 10 thousand. cars. For this purpose, new ferries were brought in, one of them arrived after the May holidays, another, with the symbolic name “Victory”, arrived literally the day before yesterday. And there will be another ferry, which is currently on its way, and will soon arrive to work at the crossing with the ability to simultaneously transport 600 people and about 150 cars,” the official said.
According to Maxim Sokolov, the number of vehicles, the completely transformed infrastructure of both port facilities, and the built interceptor parking for trucks and cars will allow this year to avoid traffic jams and other inconveniences when crossing the Kerch Strait and using the ferry.
