This was reported by the press service of the Unified Transport Directorate.
In the first half of the day, the small-capacity ferries “Eysk” and “Kerch-2”, which are more resistant to strong gusts of wind not exceeding 18 m/s, made one trip each in test mode at the crossing.
“The ferries were transported from one shore to the other with an increased interval, so they left for the second trip only after 14.00. In these transportations, priority was given to passengers with children, as well as passengers traveling on a “single” ticket,” ETD noted.
By 17.00 the wind force decreased to 13-15 m/s. Therefore, the ferries “Nikolai Aksenenko” and “Glyukofilousa” are allowed to load passenger vehicles and passengers.
“The wind strength has dropped to the maximum permissible norms, but until the storm warning is finally lifted, we cannot say that the crossing is fully operational. If the wind does not increase on the night of October 28-29, the Kerch crossing will be put into operation,” ETD emphasized.
Currently, the following are waiting their turn for loading on the cargo line: in the port of Novorossiysk - 300 trucks, in the Kerch fishing port - 510. Cargo ferries "Sevastopol" and "Novorossiysk" have been put into operation.
At the port "Kavkaz" there were 550 cars in the queue, at the port "Crimea" - 450 cars.
